Mixing things up a little differently today. We're doing the top 10 DVD charts this year. (That will include re-releases that made it back into the charts too)

As everyone is aware the year has been tremendous for movies. With the outstanding Box office records that have broken time after time I wanted to do a bit of research to see if they still lived up in the sales when the movie transferred from the big screen to DVD.

Bare in mind this list would be before all the smash hit movies that have recently came out. Like blank panther, Avengers etc. (Just thought I would make that clear so no one would think I've made a mistake)

Lets go kick things off with number 10

BATMAN NINJA

Batman, along with a number of his allies and adversaries, finds himself transplanted from modern Gotham City to feudal Japan. Batman fights his infamous foes as an armoured ninja. With Catwoman, Two-Face and the Joker all showing up to battle the Bat, will Bruce Wayne be able to save the day?

For an animation DC action movie to have such high appraisal can only make you feel nothing but positive for the direction DC movies are going down. That being said if you feel this may not be for you as you're not a fan of comic books etc don't let that sway you're opinion just yet. As I was the exact same. I'm not really a huge batman fan, infact I'm more of a Flash fan. However I felt this was different, something that I had never witnessed before. Even when I felt I wouldn't get it or understand it I couldn't look away.

Here's some comments from twitter of some of the things some of the fans have said about Batman Ninja.

Purely because I haven't seen any of the paddington movies I had to result on what people thought of this movie.
It's spent 10 weeks in the DVD charts. However done sensational within the box office.

From what my reaction to everyone around the world has been this is a real family fun masterpiece. Fun for the whole family to enjoy together. I won't be surprised if this will/has been playing multiple times already no thanks to their little children.

I think we've movies like Sharknado and where they got widely appreciated for the utterly poorly low budget movies that turned into high grossing movies because of the population of social media that shared it with their friends and it made it popular. However I can't seeing this doing the same, I mean it's fun, it's creative to what fun money they had in it. At first I believed it was spoof movie of the Science fiction movie genre as a whole to when I discovered it was a genuine movie I was utter shocked. 1) how it's managed to be in this charts. & 2) well how it managed to do so successful in the charts.

I think with streaming devices such as Netflix that's how movies and shows like these end up becoming smash hits. I'll admit as much as I found it ridiculous and damn right hilarious with the poor visual effects I couldn't help but love it. As I still believe they did it like that deliberately so for that I say check it out.

Although that being said some people didn't really take kindly to what they said about this movie. (Please note I didn't write the following tweets, or either do I know them personally I'm just adding these because it's addressing the movie.

Number 7

DEADPOOL

Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humour, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Ryan Reymolds has always made it clear this has always been his ultimate passion to make this movie not only was it 10 years in the making to finally get the green light to make this movie, but it's been nothing but success ever since. Deadpool was released in 2016 and yes it's still in the DVD and Blu-ray charts. Since Deadpool 2 hit cinema's around the world Deadpool has been in the charts for the second time for 68 weeks and hasn't moved. That's crazy. I haven't seen a movie generate this much hype in years.

I think I speak for everyone when I say this is arguably one of the finest Marvel movies out there at the minuet, I think what makes deadpool great is because he isn't a hero and he isn't really a villian neither he is sort of in the middle.

In managed to hit an all round audience as it gave you elements where it was a okay if you wasn't normally a fan of the Marvel movies that came before. The amount of jokes that gets referenced throughout this movie it isn't no shock to me why this is still a success even now.

Lets look at what people thought about deadpool.

Number 6

MOLLY'S GAME

At number six finds a new entry among the lists and it's Molly game Starring Jessica Chastain (famously known for her role in the smash hit movie Zero Dark Thirty) & Idris Elba Molly's game is a  true story of Molly Bloom, an Olympic-class skier who ran the world's most exclusive high-stakes poker game and became an FBI target. Her players included Hollywood royalty, sports stars, business titans and finally, unbeknownst to her, the Russian mob. Her only ally was her criminal defense lawyer Charlie Jaffey, who learned that there was much more to Molly than the tabloids led us to believe.

This has always been on my must see list but I had never got round to seeing, the story always fascinated me. I mean the story sounds so extreme and insane it has to be a false and made up story. Although that being said I love my biopic's and I always read to see if the movie got it authentic etc, can I just say they managed to detail everything that happened. (Although I haven't watched it I'm going by the story and article I've heard regarding this.

Lets see what people thought or still thinks about Molly's game.

Number 5

STAR WARS - THE LAST JEDI

Believe it or not this has actually dropped 3 places. Although it has managed to maintain and stay within the charts for six straight weeks.

The opening crawl from this latest film 'Star Wars, Episode VIII: The Last Jedi' reads that the First Order is plotting to seize military control of the galaxy. A team of Resistance fighters led by General Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher) are planning an evacuation from their main base as Supreme Leader Snoke's (Andy Serkis) forces are coming for them. The Resistance holds out hope that Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) will return to bring hope.

It's very hard to write things like this without giving spoilers away. I know even though it's been out a while it's still one of them movies where you can't explain without ruining it for someone. Believe me I'm the same if someone ruins or tells me something that happens in a movie I was super excited about watching that's it that moment was ruined for me.

I've got a lot of positives but some negatives about this. I won't get into the negatives because then I won't have time to talk about the rest of the chart. What I will say is this It's fun, it's captivating the same as star wars was and will always be. wipe that nonsense of if you didn't watch one you wouldn't understand, yes granted it will benefit you because you will know what key characters  are making references about. But you don't need to no it's not a major.

Even though this another title to which I haven't actually seen, but the cast that results within a movie like such an A listing cast you just know it will not disappoint.

(please note the trailer you're seeing in this might not be the same as the movie.) What I mean by that is Kevin spacey was originally starring in this and he maybe a face seen in this trailer, however with everything was going on about him the production decided to remove him from the movie and just re-shoot scenes that he may had featured.

Lets see what the rest of the world thought about this movie anyway.

Number 3

PITCH PERFECT 3

Dropped 3 places but still maintaining the top 3 spot, this movie was highly anticipated for many reasons. After the first movie hit cinemas a rise in the fan-base of the movie is incredible.

Following their win at the world championship, the now separated Bella's reunite for one last singing competition at an overseas USO tour, but face a group who uses both instruments and voices.

I think most importantly to why pitch perfect franchise was always been successful. It's not just the incredible cast and the incredible voice's that each of them have simultaneously, but its the soundtracks too. I think it's perfect too because it's not just for one demographic either, you can be a male or female of any aged and still walk out loving this franchise.

Number 2

JUMANJI - WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE

Even though it's dropped down one space I think the hype surrounding this movie was rightly deserved I mean it had everything. Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Dwayne Johnson. In comedy you wouldn't think them three would ever work perfectly together but it's the perfect three that fits with sheer perfection.

Everyone had their doubts myself included when they heard the title and description of what the movie was about they instantly assumed it was a remake to the smash hit cult classic starring Robin Williams. Even though it's slightly similar it's completed different, I mean perhaps it's some type of sequel because this time it's a video game instead of a board game.

Domestic Releases:December 20th 2017 (wide) Sony Pictures

MPAA Rating:PG-13 for adventure action, suggestive content, and some language
Comparisons:Vs. Jumanji
Source:Original Screenplay
Genre:Comedy/Musical
Production Method:Live Action
Creative Type:Fantasy

Although that being said it has to have some type of connection with the first movie because in the opening credits when you're meeting the characters you actually see the board game that was used in the original movie.  What's Jumanji about? Four teenagers are sucked into a magical video game, and the only way they can escape is to work together to finish the game.

literally becoming the avatars they chose: gamer Spencer becomes a brawny adventurer (Dwayne Johnson); football jock Fridge loses (
in his words) "the top two feet of his body" and becomes an Einstein (Kevin Hart); popular girl Bethany becomes a middle-aged male professor (Jack Black); and wallflower Martha becomes a bad ass warrior (Karen Gillan). What they discover is that you don't just play Jumanji--you must survive it. To beat the game and return to the real world, they'll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, discover what Alan Parrish left 20 years ago, and change the way they think about themselves--or they'll be stuck in the game forever...

I think what speaks out to me on extreme levels is the amount of times you get to witness as an audience member watching the actors/actress's just having the time of their life. I think that shows in their performances.

As much as I want to single out Kevin hart and Dwayne Johnson I think everyone has already noticed their chemistry and comedic duo-type comedy. If you want me to say who I believe stole the show within the movie? Jack black without a shadow of doubt.

Why I say that because Everyone who picks their character when playing the game are nothing like their actual characters in real life, for example Spencer who of course is played by the great Dwayne Johnson, Spencer wasn't what you call a strong guy or confident with the ladies, so to witness Dwayne continue them characteristics throughout the movie was truly brilliant.

Although as I said for Jack black was by far the best performer because Jack black's character is an avatar in the game and is selected by a female. So all throughout the movie there is a lot of flirtatious comments, jokes about him being a old middle aged man and can I just say watching Jack black teach Karen Gillian how to flirt will go down as one of my favourite moments not just in the movie but probably in life.

If you haven't seen it yet. I will not write spoilers so do not worry about that but all I will say is this you will not be disappointed it's jaw achingly funny. In this generation it's very rare to find a comedy movie that stays consistently funny.

I think I already what most people included myself thought of the movie anyway but lets find out what people thought of Jumanji on twitter.

And finally we have reached our finally our Number one on the DVD & blu-ray charts what could the last title be?

THE GREATEST SHOWMAN

If you have been living under a rock you wouldn't had known that this movie has done sensational. Not only in the box office but the soundtrack has also been doing remarkable things within the album charts and just single's charts.

What is the Greatest showman about?

Celebrates the birth of show business, and tells of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation. I can't speak for everyone when they watched this I can only speak for myself, but I got the feeling of proud to being myself when I watched this movie. It's okay to have a dream how ridiculous it may feel big or small you should never stop believing.

The cast was sensational Zac Efron, Hugh Jackman,Zendaya and many more was all perfect within their own way.The musical numbers are off-the-charts amazing. The nine songs written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul not only tell the story, they get into your mind in the most delightful way. “This is Me,” is, of course, the showstopper. It was nominated for an Academy Award and was honoured by other groups as well. But, all nine songs impressed me, and that was due to the undeniable talents of the songwriters, with some help by the filmmakers who precisely staged the music with just the right choreography, just the right talent, just the right costumes and just the right sets. It was a perfect blend of cinematic principles and techniques.

purely because I wanted another excuse to listen to the entire album myself I've attached the entire album for your inconvenience to listen whenever you feel fit.

This is one of them movies I believe we'll still be talking about for many more years to come, maybe it's just Hugh Jackman and he's just an artist at starring in utter masterpieces'
I completely understand that certain people may have their concerns or even their negative comments regarding this movie to be truthfully honest I don't even understand how anyone could even hate this.

It's just a movie that stems my inner-child to run wild that you can achieve anything you ever would of dared to dream of the second you start to accept and appreciate yourself. It's just a beautiful movie.
