UNPOPULAR OPINION ALERT: TV shows in the past was way better than TV shows in the present.

Now before you come at me and tell me how ridiculous I am because technology has massively improved on a daily basis. However, in terms of actual watching something to make you virtually gripped to your edge of your seat you rarely get that anymore.
It could be because of how much technology has changed we have TV shows at the edge of our finger-tips if we don't like something we could turn it off and find something new within seconds many thanks to the streaming devices that are disposable to us.

Purely because they're on everyone's list I will not be adding the following. Friends, Fresh prince of bel air, Scrubs (As much as I wanted to add it) etc.

However, I am talking about TV shows where you couldn't go a day without talking about, you would literally talk with friends and peers in heated discussions comparing notes trying to encode what will happen next from the cliffhanger you have just been presented with.

These shows that I have picked out are what I personally feel you need to watch. You could take it as gospel or you could actually listen to me and have something great to watch on TV for a change.

LOST

Liam how could you put lost on this list? it's so old. Haven't you heard they're in talks to rebooting it? Yes I completely understand this all. However, in terms of suspense and gripping lost had it all. If you want a TV show where you become instantaneously gripped from the pilot and episode 2 (It was sort of like a two-parter you need to watch both parts to understand) This is the show for you.

Breaking Bad

I mean as people we all found ourselves cheering on a normal teacher to create and deal meth. It's one of them shows where it doesn't even feel like you had watched it long then you look at the date and calendar and realise 3 days has passed and you haven't moved. That's just how intense and how dynamic the drama is at every turn. It is incredible hands down. It's clear why the public admire it as much as they do.

What's it about?

Mild-mannered high school chemistry teacher Walter White thinks his life can't get much worse. His salary barely makes ends meet, a situation not likely to improve once his pregnant wife gives birth, and their teenage son is battling cerebral palsy. But Walter is dumbstruck when he learns he has terminal cancer. Realizing that his illness probably will ruin his family financially, Walter makes a desperate bid to earn as much money as he can in the time he has left by turning an old RV into a meth lab on wheels.

Chuck

Now this is a loveable one for myself, as if you're going by the poster or by the title it probably doesn't scream out outstanding. But let me tell you something, this is one of the most underrated shows to ever been televised there I said it.
It's a uplifting comedy, with many serious moments about a regular guy who ends up turning into a spy. I mean what is not too like?
If you are one of those that's truly excited to watch Shazam then definitely watch this. As it stars the highly talented and incredibly funny Zachary Levi as "Chuck

Ozark

It's a dark thriller that will instantly have you gripped and hooked willing to see more. It's one of those shows where you will not be able to see Jason Bateman in the same light. (That's a complement) considering he's always known for his comedic value.

What's it about?

Ozark, created by The Accountant screenwriter Bill Dubuque,
improves immeasurably as it stretches its legs in deepest Missouri. A gloomy palate of greys and browns evokes the poverty and desperation of the Southern United States's "meth belt". Soapy melodrama is furthermore conjured via a run-in with a clan of hillbillies (including a kleptomaniac scamp played by former model Julia Garner).

Silicon Valley

if you'd bet me that this show would get worse without the quips of Erlich Bachman to add some stoner spice, you'd owe me money. (You probably do anyway, so pony up via whatever the latest Venmo-esque sensation is.) Anyway, the show is humming along without T.J. Miller's banished bro. The new main "villain" (that's in quotes because every character on this show, even loveably weird Jared, is a villain) is Bachman's Newman-like nemesis Jian Yang, he of "Not Hot Dog" fame. Will the rest of the gang overcome his shenanigans? Are there douchebags in the tech industry?

What's it about?

Partially inspired by co-creator Mike Judge's experiences as a Silicon Valley engineer in the 1980s, this comedy series follows the misadventures of introverted computer programmer Richard and his brainy friends as they attempt to strike it rich in a high-tech gold rush. They live together in a Bay Area startup incubator loosely run by self-satisfied dot-com millionaire Erlich, who lets them stay in his house rent-free in exchange for a stake in the projects they invent there. But when Richard develops a powerful search algorithm at his day job, he finds himself caught in the middle of a bidding war between his boss -- whose firm offers Richard an eight-figure buyout -- and a deep-pocketed venture capitalist.
