A Look back for some of the greatest boxing moments - From Tony Bellew, Tyson Fury to many more! - Watch all the classic Fights too!

As we are still yet to have sport grace our screens yet due to COVID-19 fear, not boxing fans I have you covered I have compiled a montage of some of the moments that will not be forgotten in boxing history.

I think I speak for all fans of all sporting events when I say we all just need and want sports back as soon as possible, with our realisation sadly even when they will come back it would only be aired on TV without an audience.

Let us not look at the negatives here let's look at the positives of boxing as a whole

Deontay Wilder v Tyson Fury

Date: 1st December 2018

Location: STAPLES Center, Los Angeles, California, United States

Tyson Fury was 27-0 going into this classic. Zero losses and Zero draws. With the height 6 ft 9 in (2.06 m)

and weighed 256 1⁄2 lb (116.3 kg)

Deontay Wilder was similar also undefeated with an impressive 40-0 with 39 of them belts ending in KO for the Bronze bomber. With a height of 6 ft, 7 in (2.01 m) and a weight of 212 1⁄2 lb (96.4 kg) both familiar of each others style as they're known for an orthodox. One more clean and professional than the other. Regardless if you were a fan of these two guys this was a must-see. I mean no guy in the history of Heavyweight boxing have we had giants with a perfect record come together you had also had to take into to consideration this fight was after Tyson had a break from the sport due to mental health reasons. Came back to lose the weight had a few welcome back fights to then go head to head with arguably one of the greatest heavyweights in the world. It was arguably a fight everyone wanted to see.

Sadly it was a controversial fight. It ended in a draw which then lead for a rematch. But it was split decision among the fans as some stated Wilder won some stated fury won. Either way, it was a historic moment that will forever go down as a great boxing moment.

If you weren't lucky enough to watch the fight or if you want to just relive the fight all over again don't you worry I have you covered too. Click the link below kick back and enjoy, just make sure you come back for the remainder of the list.

Tony Bellew Vs David Haye

Date: 03 March 2017

Location: 02 Arena London

David Haye was 36 with a height of 6ft 3ins similar to Tony Bellew he was 34 with a height of 6ft 3ins in this fight, in particular, David haye came in heavier of the two guys. He weighed in 16 stone 9oz with an unbelievable reach of 78inches Bellew, on the other hand, weighed in 15 stone 3lbs 8oz with a reach of 74 inches.

looking at the statistics knowing Tony Bellew hadn't fought at heavyweight before everyone wrote him off. Everyone said the same thing over and over again Haye is fare too experienced at heavyweight, he's too heavy, he's got the bigger reach it will be a walkover.

What made this such a great fight was the lead up as you had David Haye who was apart a small list of British men to be undisputed world champion status. Then you had Tony Bellew a former cruiserweight WBC champion coming up a weight division to take on the challenge. I don't think you will ever get to witness this again in a long time. Not only was it a beautiful moment in boxing but it was beautiful at the distance these two had for one and another. All the experts and all the doubters who doubted Tony Bellew beat David Haye comfortably.

Carl Froch V George Groves 2

Date: 31st May 2014

Location: Wembley Stadium, Wembley

Carl Froch nicknamed The Cobra, had a boxing record before the rematch with George Groves was 32-2 (23 of those wins was a way of knockout) The two losses on Carl Froches record was from Andre Ward and Mikkel Kessler. Carl was 6ft1 and weighed in 167.9lbs (11/12 stone) whereas George groves, on the other hand, He was nicknamed the saint. Going into this bout had a professional record of 19-1 (15 of those wins was a way of knockout) Carl Froch was his only loss on his record at this point and this rematch was to avenge that loss. George was 5ft11 also weighed in at 166.4lbs (11/12 stone)

For those that watched the first fight would be aware that these two dislike each other greatly, neither of them showed each other an ounce of respect. It was remarkable, the lead up to the fight had everyone eager anticipation for the classic. Who would had thought because of this fight we now hear Carl Froch say "But it didn't happen in front of 30,000 people at Wembley" so you have to thank this fight for that.

That being said what an epic throwdown

Anthony Joshua V Wladimir Klitschko

Date: 29th April 2017

Location: Wembley Stadium, Wembley

Anthony Joshua was the talk of the town for British heavyweight boxing, he was going into this fight untouched, unblemished with a perfect record of 18-0 (18 of those wins was way of KO) This was the big test for Anthony Joshua, to see if he could compete on the big stage with huge experience and someone who has been through the wars previously. Wladimir Klitschko's professional record was 64-4 (53 of those wins was a way of Knockout) The 4 losses on his record at this point of his career was from the gipsy king Tyson Fury, Lamon Brewster, Corrie Sanders And Ross Puritty.

Stylistically they were very similar, so similar that Anthony Joshua has been a member of Klitschko's training camp before so they had a rough indication of how each other boxed, they were similar in height, and weight so it was hard to compare how the fight would transcend.

This was the fight a lot of people were surprised. As this fight, in particular, Anthony Joshua showed heart, he was behind the cards on the verge of defeat and manages to turn it around. Regardless if you are a fan of Anthony Joshua or not you have to respect this fight for numerous reasons.

Floyd Mayweather Jr Vs Conor Mcgregor

Date: 26th August 2017

Location: T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada, United States

This was the fight no one and I mean no one ever anticipated it happening. Worldwide status gladiators who both have beyond a ridiculous amount of wealth between them one being a legend in the sport of boxing and the other being well-rounded and respected within mixed material arts (MMA).

What was even crazier this was Conor Mcgregor's debut in professional boxing and taking on arguably one of the greatest boxers of this generation. Floyd Mayweather Jr was walking into this bout with an incredible record of 49-0.

They were both similar in height and weight, although Conor was slightly heavier.

Conor done well. That sounds as if I am being disrespectful but I'm not. Considering this was his first pro-fight and only had sparring and amateur bouts but zero professional bouts, yes he done well. It lasted 10 rounds until the ref felt that was enough crowning Mayweather his 50-0 respected record. Being as intelligent Mayweather was he knew Conor would come out guns blazing from the get-go and trying to go for the knockout early as that's what he needed to do, the longer the fight would go the fight would sway more to Floyd.

If you were a neutral watching this you have to give props to both guys as regardless what way you look at it, people brought into the hype they purchased the PPV, they watched all the press conferences, it was a big payday for both guys.

I just believe Floyd was toying with him, and just made Conor look as if he was doing great so everyone could get the best out of this experience.

Was it the worst fight I had ever seen? No, The reason it made the list because who in their right mind would ever predict an MMA fighter going up against arguably one of the pound for pound greatest champions in boxing history?

Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury II

Date: 22nd February 2020

Location: MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Being as the first fight ended in such a controversial ending leaving a bitter taste in boxing fans mouths. Tyson Fury made a vow to get his W, he stated it's clear the American judges wouldn't allow him to take home the win if it went to points so wouldn't allow it to go to the judges again.

Deontay Wilder, on the other hand, stated he won the previous fight as he claimed Tyson fury didn't get up before the 10 counts when he got knocked down in the 12 round the previous fight. This fight needed to answer all the unanswered questions, Can Tyson fury retain his legacy or will Deontay wilder become etched in stone as one of the greatest boxers of this generation.

The only thing different with this fight was Tyson fury weighed in heavier than the last fight as he wanted it for extra power behind his punches.

Regardless if you were a fan of Tyson fury or not you have to admire the beautiful way of boxing he performed in this bout. He well and truly made Deontay wilder look amateur.

Anthony Joshua Vs Andy Ruiz

Date: June 1st 2019

Location: Madison Square Garden, New York City, New York.

Anthony Joshua was coming into this fight putting all his belts on the line with a boxing record of 22 wins and zero losses (21 of those wins being by a way of knockout) Andy Ruiz, on the other hand, was coming into this bout with 32 wins and 1 loss. (21 of those wins was a way of knock out) his only loss on his record was against Joesph Parker. Anthony Joshua weighed in around 247lbs (17/18 stone), Andy Ruiz was slightly heavier weighing in at 268lbs (19 stone).

Even though Andy Ruiz had the better record and had more experience than Anthony Joshua he wasn't the known man of the two. Everyone thought this was going to be an easy fight for Anthony Joshua. This was going to be embarking his debut on US soil.

This was a shock for most of the world as like I said no one knew the name Andy Ruiz so it was shocking to see someone take it to the champion, in previous fights we had seen of someone coming up against a champion they crumble under the pressure, but this was gladiator been waiting for this moment, he did not want someone to take his belts away from him again.

Some argued that it was a premature stoppage some could also argue that Anthony Joshua quit the fight we will never know the real answer for that. We have to respect the elegance behind Andy Ruiz he pinpointed out Anthony Joshua's weaknesses in his arsenal and made him pay. Hats off to Anthony Joshua who was on top for such a long period he took the defeat elegantly and of course requested for a rematch.

Tony Bellew V David Haye - The Rematch

Date: 5th May 2018

Everything from the previous fight was similar in the terms weight and height was both similar in that respect. It was the rematch to see if David Haye could avenge his loss or if Tony Bellew could do the double.

The lead up for this fight was sensational. It was the perfect bout that UK boxing needed. Both were respected for their own reasons. Tony Bellew had newfound respect from previous foe's that disrespected him the previous fight. You also had David haye fans stating he was not fit the last fight so after a full camp being fully fit would he be able to compete and be able to avenge his loss.

I think this fight was quicker paced than the first fight, I think Tony Bellew was tired of some individuals still not taking his win seriously yet instead claiming it was a fluke. He showed Haye he had the speed, he showed haye he had the power, he pretty much showed and proved anyone to never judge anyone by the way they look. It will arguably go down as one of the most one-sided boxing seen in a very long time. It was magnificent.

Ksi V Logan paul 2

Date: 9th November 2019

Location: Staples Center, Los Angeles, California.

Before we get into this one this is on the list as who earth would have ever predicted it, two YouTubers would turn professional boxers and end up headlining their first show. Granted it was not incredible skills but you have to admire then for the commitment. They took it seriously, the trained, they did camp, they turned pro, they made weight, they followed all the rules all normal boxers do on a day to day basis for them whos not normally familiar in that world was fascinating. Some could argue it would ruin the sport, but I look at it like this they probably generated a new generation of fans to the sport, the more people wanting the sport regular the chances are more networks would invest in boxing and have it back on TV instead of just PPV events.

I can't comment on the technique of either fighter as it was new for them, I can't comment on how entertaining it was because it pretty much looked like two drunks scrapping in the ring. That being said how they both handled themselves professionally inside and outside the ring was remarkable, they did make it entertaining for the lead up to the fight. I think the reason why most people got angry about this was that they were considering generating a new division desired for YouTubers which then I would feel that would be a mockery out of the sport if they were to do that. As for KSI and Logan, they didn't have a special weight to fight in specially for Youtubers it was an actual weight class.

As I mentioned it was a tad iffy and not smooth with the punches, there were some glimpses of amazing and some ones and twos but because they both didn't have a lot of professional experience you could see the nerves. The reason for me adding it on this list was simple even if you had no interest in watching it, it was everywhere on your local news, on advertisements, on posters, on their social media platforms. It was elegant. Regardless if you were a fan of them or not you have to admire for their first-ever fight could be their last too, they made a shit ton of money and both walked away unharmed. I say they're both killing it.

Anthony Joshua V Andy Ruiz II

(Clash of the Dunes)

Date: December 7th 2019

Location: Diriyah Arena, Diriyah, Saudi Arabia

This was the fight everyone was nervous for Anthony Joshua I mean the first time these guys fought Andy Ruiz pretty much made Aj seem like he was in over his head. Andy Ruiz showed the world he could be hit and hurt. Andy Ruiz weighed in at 284lbs which makes him slightly heavier than his previous fight with Anthony, (putting him around 20 stone) whereas Anthony Joshua weighed-in at his lightest he had been in his entire career at this point 237lbs (16 stone).

You could tell that his mindset was completely different going into the second fight. What I mean by that he felt he needed to be lighter so he can move easier, step in and outside of the pocket. He knew the mistakes he made in the previous fight. If you watch the first fight Anthony Joshua was focused on getting the knockout and he was rushing his shots. Every time he rushed in he got caught and he couldn't recover. He wanted to make sure that definitely doesn't happen again.

From round one he was just keeping his mind that this is a spare, as he kept andy at the distance at all time, he didn't allow himself to get caught by numerous mistakes made previously. Some people could state it was a boring fight that's because it didn't have explosions and fireworks, sometimes you have to realise and play chess with your opponent when your opponent is playing checkers. It was just a great way to recrown he was dethroned for a few months prior.

Before everyone comes for me no you're right this is a very limited this was very selected mostly all the relatively recent ones. Fear not I will be doing this as frequently as possible so if a fight you wanted on the list that didn't make the cut I will be doing more so look out for it in the future.
